La Quintessa in English

La Quintessa is a restaurant and pizzeria overlooking the lake of Castel Gandolfo. Here you will find recipes inspired by Italian regional traditions, from Sicily to Tuscany, all matched with wines from the same regions. Oven baked pizza is also available, as well as Argentian and Tuscan meat cooked on the barbecue and a selection of typical Italian cheeses.

The restaurant is directed by Anna Marazzi, local restaurateuse with 30 years of experience. Anna takes care of every aspect of La Quintessa, from the kitchen to the homely decor, from the choice of wines to the home made desserts which include a delicious pear tart served with vanilla and cinnamon ice-cream. Only seasonal ingredients are used (thus the menu changes every three months), and typical Italian products, not only from Latium but from other regions too, are carefully selected.

All these choices are made by Anna directly so that her guests can comfortably enjoy the food and atmosphere of La Quintessa.

How to get here: from Rome, take Via Appia towards the Castelli Romani area. Follow indications for Castel Gandolfo, then for the lake (lago). After the tunnel, turn left at the roundabout and drive on for a further kilometre. The restaurant is in front of the lake.
